Online cartridge replacement system for Reprographic Business


The OTA framework and the application are developed on the N-Tier Client-Server architecture, which supports multi server deployment and load balancing.

Business Need

A US based reprographic business wanted to automate their Cartridge replacement system with an online solution. The solution needed to automatically match the incoming cartridges as per their brand and size and got to the correct process queues.

The Client

The client is a leading Reprographic dealer based in the USA. The manual system they had was very much labour intensive and error prone and wanted Teknokraaft to design an online solution that was efficient and cost-effective.

The Challenge

The challenge in building this application was that it should be user friendly and at the same time enable the customers of our client to login and fill up the details without errors. The empty ink cartridges present at the customer premise needs to be correctly tagged and brought into our clients’ factory so that they could refill and sell it again.

For this the customer can log into the site and fill up they details about the no: of cartridges they are depositing in the blue boxes kept by the client at the customer premise. The client will then send in their logistics guys to pick up the boxes.

The Solution

Teknokraaft was able to build a system for our client using which their customers could log in and fill in the correct details of the cartridges as per their specification and the brand. The online application works in a wizard manner and helps the customers who may not be IT savvy to fill in the required details without any errors.

The application also includes an Admin facility by which the client can set up the machine and the corresponding cartridge details for the customer so that when he logs in the needed details are already available for him.

The application also has a feature by which the cartridges send in by the customer can be verified by the client and the status of the same – Accepted or Rejected can be notified back to the customer.
