As per the data released by Ministry of Civil Aviation, scheduled domestic airlines in India carried a total of 520.21 lakh passengers in the year 2010. This was a growth of 18.7% compared to 2009 where in the total passengers carried was 438.40 Lakh.
This is indeed great news and shows a sign of revival and continued growth in this sector. Not surprisingly it is the private carriers who have contributed to this tremendous growth.
